2025 Draft Recap

We are so back! Year Nine is coming straight at us and with the first NFL game this evening, the fantasy season is underway. As I have said before, you cannot win your championship through the draft, but you can certainly lose it. I'm not here to name names, but remember last year when Cheeno drafted 4 WR's through the first four rounds? Marvin Harrison Jr. with his first round pick? That's how you lose. You already know what is coming below, it is the holy grail of post-draft recaps.

As you review this and either get my praise or hate. Understand that it's your own fault because you drafted these guys. I just preach the gospel. Don't come at me because you fucked it up before we even started. Reminder, my draft grades do not come with an explanation because I shouldn't have to explain myself to justify the grade I give. Mock it, laugh at it, but at the end of the day, you're just hiding that embarrassment behind a false sense of confidence.

Hate me or love me, you watched. - Pete Weber -Commish

Best Value, Early Rounds

CHEENO, CEEDEE LAMB Round 1, Pick 7

You hate the cowboys, and I really I hate the Cowboys. Nothing worse than walking down the street and seeing a guy with 90's Cowboys jersey, sagged oversized jean shorts with a belt that's too long, it hangs past his small penis, and of course the vintage creased Jordan's. WE DEM BOYZ he says. Grow up dude, you haven't been to a Superbowl since Tupac was still alive. You call yourself America's team, but that like saying Brittney Spears is still America's sweetheart. Relevant in the 90's and now old, batshit crazy and refuses to stay out of the media for all the wrong reasons.

Just realized I got off topic, this was supposed to be about CeeDee who is the only shining light in that organization. I expect this cowboys defense and run game to struggle which means the ball will be aired out more than usual. 2023 with healthy Dak, CeeDee finished with over 1700 receiving yards and I could see him meeting or eclipsing that this year.

Honorable Mention

Nick, Isiah Pacheco

Round 4, Pick 1

The Chiefs running game has always been a little confusing. Who is the lead back and how much will they actually run? Since Tyreek's departure, there has been a shift in this offense. Mahomes ADOT continues to decline and was bottom 5 last year, meaning they get the ball out quicker on shorter routes. I could see them starting to utilize screen passes and swing passes to RBs more often, giving Pacheco more value than previous years. Additionally, Pacheco comes in as the lead back for a team that continues to find ways odd and annoying ways to win. It's not hard to root for Pacheco, a 7th round pick who runs hard and is physical for a guy his size.

Worst Value, Early Rounds

WORZIE, ASHTON JEANTY Round 1, Pick 6

We have seen this before with other rookies being selected early in drafts. A lot of hype, determined roles and big expectations. The reality is, a large majority of time they do not meet those expectations. Going from the Mountain West to the AFC West is a major jump, and while Jeanty is very talented, he is on a Raiders team with an average-at-best offensive line and on a team that will be losing a majority of their games. Personally, not a biased take, I don't even think he will be the best rookie running back in the AFC West, that will go to Omarion Hampton. Now, will Jeanty have a nice year? Yeah, probably. Is he worth the 6th overall pick? No.

Honorable Mention Spencer, Travis Hunter Round 4, Pick 8

Rumors are, is that Travis Hunter is a starter on offense and a backup on defense, which should means he plays a normal amount of snaps for a WR2. While I believe Hunter should be able to break the barrier of playing both ways, it does not mean that the coaching staff believes that. Ultimately, I do not like spending a pick on a potential part time player. Imagine halfway through the season he has to pick a side and he chooses the defense. Value shattered. We know Spencer loves rookies, so this isn't out of the norm for him, but I don't understand his value being higher than someone like DJ Moore or DK Metcalf.

Best Value, Mid Rounds

WORZIE, TYRONE TRACY Round 7, Pick 6

Coming off a nice rookie season after SQB's departure, Tyrone is poised to take another jump in a new-look giants offense. With a better QB room, whether its Russ, Dart or Jameis, and arguably the best defensive front-seven in the league, I believe the Giants will be somewhat competitive this year. There are plenty of Skattebo believers out there, and I am sure he will get touches, but Tyrone has proven he can run in this league. Getting a starting running back with a clear starting role in the seventh round is great value.

Honorable Mention Prosbt, Matthew Golden Round 7, Pick 1

Nothing is more mysterious than the Packers and their WR's since Davante's departure. Who is the true number one and are any of them actually healthy? The answers are: No one knows, and no. Packer's WRs have battled injuries year after year and still battling them as they get into the 2025 season. The clear number one this year should be Golden. And if he stays healthy... if. He will get targets often. It's only fitting that Probst got his Packer's WR and it could pay off in a potential keeper should he prove to be the guy he was at Texas.

Worst Value, Mid Rounds

NATHAN, JK DOBBINS Round 10, Pick 7

Coming off the best season of his career, JK Dobbins lands in Denver and assumes the first team role... Until he doesn't. Having only played a total of 22 games in the last four years combined, JK will inevitably find himself on the bench. It could be due to injury or the rookie RJ Harvey who surpasses him. Sean Peyton won't have the patience for a 26yo Dobbins who is going on 40 in a year where Denver should be taking a big leap into a playoff run with Sophomore Bo Nix. I may get laughed at early in the season, but I guarantee I get the last laugh on this one.

Honorable Mention Spencer, Jaydon Blue Round 10, Pick 8

If JK Dobbins was bad, this is worse. Jaydon Blue, currently third on the depth chart in Dallas and will be fighting just to get onto the field. In an offense that doesn't often utilize RB's in the passing game, Blue's value will have to primarily come from battling for carries. While both Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders aren't darlings, injuries will be the only way Blue ever has a chance at taking over that backfield this year. Blue being the smallest RB also doesn't poise well for his chance at short-and-goal opportunities. I think we may be a year or two early on Blue making any type of impact for Dallas.

Best Value, Late Rounds

PROBST, OLLIE GORDON Round 13, Pick 1

Miami has a slew of names on their RB roster, but outside of Achane, Ollie Gordon has the best chance to make an impact early. Achane will assume the first-team role but having dealt with a soft tissue injury in training camp, any small tweaks could give Ollie a chance to have a big impact early on. Ollie is not your stereotypical Miami player, he runs a 4.6, not a 4.3, but he's fluid for a 6'2, 225 runner. He has the chance to steal some carries near the goal line and his top-end speed is faster than 4.6 speed once he gets moving.

Worst Value, Late Rounds

JON, AMARI COOPER Round 15, Pick 5

He retired as I am writing this article.
