2025 Week Four Recap

Welp, it happened. If you followed last week's recap, something to keep an eye on was the top teams versus the bottom feeders, and as fate had it, the top teams ended up winning. We now have four teams with two or fewer wins going into week 5. Still time to make a move, but if you're one of those four teams, start packing your bags. It's about to be Cancun on three.
The bye weeks have arrived! This is where fantasy gets interesting. Be honest with yourself, is your team really that good? The answer, unless you're me, is probably not. Now is the time to use the FAAB to get better. Is today or tomorrow more important? Holding on to a player that's trash just because the keeper value for next year might be there. Loser mentality.
Let's get right into this shit.
WEEK 4 PAYOUT WINNER The Bye Week - Team that wins with the biggest points margin of victory
Worzie, 208.15pts
This was expected, not because anyone thought Worzie would breach the 200 mark, rarely done in the nine-year history, but because Nick's team is looking awful. To no one's surprise, Nick didn't break the 90pt mark, meaning that Worzie beat him by a league record, 120.72pts, which alone would have beaten three other teams this week.
FUN STATS OF THE WEEK
I sat here for nearly half an hour looking for a Start/Blunder of the week, and nothing jumped out at all. It was almost all chalk. People played who they had to play, so I said fuck it, let's pivot. Start/Blunder of the week will be back next week.
Stat One
I dogged on the North last week, hoping they'd pick it up, but it actually got worse. Through the first four weeks of the season, the North as a whole is averaging 118.79 points per week, while the South is averaging 132.43 points per week. The South is 6-2 in games played against the North and has 13 wins versus only 7 wins when it comes to claiming the weekly point wins. Is this surprising given the standings? No, not really, but I still found it interesting.
Stat Two
We have had three instances, since the switch to Sleeper, that which a team has broken the 200pt barrier. Spencer in week 17 of 2024 with 200.11pts, Cheeno in week 4 of 2023 with 201.18pts, and now Worzie with 208.15.
Stat Three
There have been 814 transactions (waivers, trades, adds/drops) since 2023. Spencer is responsible for 21% of those, with a whopping 171 transactions. Ryan is responsible for only 3.4% with 28 transactions.
Stat Four
People might assume that transactions can directly correlate to performance, but the stats say otherwise. The bottom three teams, since 2023, have a combined record of 48-102, and account for a total of 214 transactions. The top three teams are 105-35 and combine for a total of 218. In both circumstances, one of those teams is over 100 transactions, one is under 40, and one is in the 60s.
Stat Five
(Stats since 2023)
Highest Avg Scorer Per Week
Nathan: 138.38pts
Lowest Avg Scorer
Ryan: 112.80pts
Most Avg Points Against
Cheeno: 132.89pts
Least Avg Points Against
Worzie: 124.01pts
GAME-CHANGING PLAYS OF THE WEEK
Jared Goff to Jameson Williams
Y'all know how I feel about Jameson; all the guy does is make big plays. Purely a gamebreaker and can flip the game with a single play. Unfortunately, the last game did not go well for him. Both Jameson and Goff shared some of these misses, ultimately costing Jon the win over Spencer and Ryan the win over Nathan.
Jameson finished with 2 catches on 8 targets for 40 yards. Let's take a look at some of these game-changing plays.
I have four plays to go over.
On the first play, you'll see Jameson at the bottom. Prior to the snap, Myles Garrett goes offside, which always means bomb it to Jamo. As Jamo gets inside leverage, Goff throws this ball more on a line where I think Jamo seemed to be looking for something over the shoulder. He is late looking at the ball, which causes the incompletion.
Play two, Jamo is lined up at the bottom. Runs a beautiful route, pushing the DB to the inside, then using that space he created to work back outside to gain separation. He turns his head inside first, expecting an over-the-shoulder, but it happened to be placed on his outside shoulder. He should have caught this ball.
Play three, Jamo lined up at the bottom. Jameson runs a post against a 4-3 defense, playing man, with no deep help in the middle. Unfortunately, Goff gets hit here, or this is probably a completed pass.
Lastly, play four. I don't think this would have ever been a completion. Jamo once again runs a post. Goff doesn't have the arm to throw this 65 yards plus, and while he may have had to adjust his follow-through, this ball is 10 yards short of where it should have been.
I'd love to say "Imagine Jameson on the Chargers", but what's the point of having a 4.2 guy if your QB doesn't have time to throw the ball? But, could you imagine Jameson on the Chargers? A dream of mine.
THE LEAGUE POWER RANKINGS
1) Goodell 2.0: Officially clinched a playoff spot.
2) Me & Mahomies â–²1: 200pt week means you move up.
3) LBJ = GOAT â–¼1:Â No Lamar or Bucky means you move down.
4) PAC 2 Champion: King of the North (Feels like the Pac 2)
5) El Cap: 4-4, good enough for 2nd in the North. Still on Pretender watch.
6) Aiyuken: Needs CeeDee and Aiyuk back ASAP.
7) Meat Log: This team died when Joe Burrow died.
8) Footsteps Falco â–²1: Showing the slightest bit of pulse.
9) Mile High Magic â–²1: Found a way to get a win, still dead.
10)Â Romo's Reckoning â–¼2: Insert Buggati (Bowers) next to the rundown house meme.
MATCH-UP FOR WEEK 5
Commish (8-0) vs Nathan (6-2)
The up-and-coming versus the two-time. The sad part is, when I win, I can't even brag about it. I still plan to, but it's lazy. Nathan is down half his roster due to bye weeks and injuries, but it's hard to win in this league. I plan on shoving this dude back into the mix with the other peasants.
Week 5 Predictions
Commish went 4-1 in week four, overall 9-6.
Commish vs. Nathan: Commish
Spencer vs. Nick: Spencer
Jared vs. Ryan: Jared
Probst vs. Worzie: Worzie
Cheeno vs. Jon: Jon
WEEK 5 WEEKLY PAYOUT
Right on the Money - Team closest to their projected point total (over OR under)
I am thinking this will end up between Jared, Jon, Probst, and Cheeno. Typically, a 'mid' award for those who don't overachieve, nor really underachieve. Just meh.
Good luck to everyone in week 5, except you, Nathan. I have a feeling this is the start of your downfall. Bolt up bitches!
